The book Authentic interest is the 28th edition of the collection 'Transformacije' published by Maska, which addresses the issues of curatorship and contemporary (visual) art debates. In it the author, Zdenka Badovinac, current director of the Modern gallery, establishes the idea of “authentic interest” as a way of engagement of the contemporary art institution, which, in reference to reminiscences in the context of a post-fordean, globalized world, retains a certain loyalty to the difference it makes locally, and tries, with the disapproval of the mechanisms of economic or political power, to enable its equal dialogue with the world.
