Aleksij Kobal / Glas (Voice) - book presentation

Thursday 21 January 2010 at 7 pm, MMC Kibla - the presentation of the book Glas / Voice by Aleksij Kobal, which was published by Cankarjeva založba last year. The conversation with the author was conducted by Petja Grafenauer.

Glas
is the literary debut of Aleksij Kobal. The bildungrsoman follows Klesja, a creator of images and music, thinking about how to arrange the “projector with a messy slide tray”. Memory is intertwined with experience, everyday life with extremes. For anyone who thought that the period of discovering oneself in the turbocapitalist showdown is pure loss, their views will be shaken strongly by Kobal's debut prose work, written in poetic language and referring constantly to objective cultural and pop history all the way to Alan Ford.

Aleksij Kobal
(1962) is one of the most esteemed Slovenian painters of the middle generation. His activity in fine arts has won him several awards and recognitions. In 1986 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Ljubljana with professor Janez Bernik. He completed his postgraduate studies in painting in 1993 with professor Metka Krašovec. He lives in Ljubljana, working as a freelance artist.
