Nara Petrovič / GOD - user manual - book presentation Tuesday 17 November 2009 at 7 pm, MMC Kibla - the presentation of the book GOD - user manual by Nara Petrovič. The presentation was part of the November Literary Events series.
"God give me strength to face a fact though it slay me." Thomas Huxley
Nara Petrovič and Simona Kopinšek discussed the nature of relations, sanctity, illusions and more. Nara explained his views on the following questions and provide his answers: How should we use God?! Is it really so weird to speak about using God? As if we hadn't always been doing it! Yes, we are using God! God as a concept and idea, as an apology and excuse, as the carrot and stick. We have probably abused him more often than used, which is due to our ignorance about the reality of the world, reality of God and of ourselves. The actual God is never absent, not out there, not unreachable, not incomprehensible. God has never abandoned us. He is beside us, here and now. Do we dare experience him? Or will we just keep believing in him until we die? Stop being believers, let's become saints.
Nara Petrovič is an independent researcher of bad habits, co-creator of a better world, writer, (co)translator (series Anastazija, Bhagavad-gite etc.), lecturer, sustainable chef, occasional masseur, and particularly a lover of life. He is not a master of anything, yet good in many things. And which is most important: he is good at describing it; therefore his books and articles are joy to read. It was probably just him, whom Edwin Schlossberg described saying: The skill of writing is to create a context in which other people can think.
