Double literary evening with Nejc Gazvoda and Gašper Bivšek

Za:misel bookstore invited you to attend a double literary evening where our guests were two representatives of a new generation of Slovenian writers, multi-awarded Nejc Gazvoda and Carinthian poet Gašper Bivšek.

Nejc Gazvoda (born in 1985) received the award Dnevnikova fabula and the award Zlata ptica in 2006 for his first work Vevericam nič ne uide. This time he will introduce his second novel Sanjajo tisti, ki preveč spijo. It takes place in a small village somewhere in the Slovenian woods. Above it an old castle stands where a group of genius individuals with super powers live. Unhappy with the isolation, our heroes decide to intervene. A surprisingly accurate allegory of contemporary society as seen by the 80’s generation.

Gašper Bivšek (born in 1984) will introduce his first poetry collection Skorjevec where he focuses on the rural world. A precise and a fresh entrance into Slovenian poetry. Independent, original, philosophical an at the same time sincere rural metaphor.
