HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZA:MISEL BOOKSTORE

Celebrating the 9th birthday of Za:misel bookstore we prepared two literary evenings with sweet cake and candles:

- Wednesday, 14th of November, 7pm: Conversation with Iztok Geister;
- Thursday, 15th of November, 7pm: Alan Macfarlane and his Letter to Lily.

On Thursday, the 15th of November 2007 at 7pm Alan Macfarlane, professor of anthropology at Cambridge University was the guest of Za:misel bookstore. He introduced his bestseller Letters to Lily.

The book is based on the answers to the letters that the author's granddaughter has been sending to him. It has been translated into many languages and now Študentska zalozba is presenting the Slovenian translation.

The conversation was moderated by Aleš Šteger.

In his work Letters to Lily profesor of history and anthropology at world famous Cambridge University is trying to answer the questions of his seven year old granddaughter Lily who wonders how the world is functioning. Her questions are fresh in their simplicity and touch intimate, moral, political and philosophical dilemmas.
