Eternal Treblinka: Our Treatment of Animals and the Holocaust was translated into Croatian language last year. Bernard Jan, the translator, and Snježana Klopotan, both members of Animal Friends Croatia introduced the book through a discussion that was moderated by Urška Breznik.
In Eternal Treblinka, not only are we shown the common roots of Nazi genocide and modern society's enslavement and slaughter of non-human animals in unprecedented detail, but for the first time we are presented with extensive evidence of the profoundly troubling connections between animal exploitation in the United States and Hitler's Final Solution.

About the auhor: Dr. Charles Patterson has a PhD in philosophy. His most recent books are The Oxford 50th Anniversary Book of the United Nations, The Civil Rights Movement, The Encyclopedia of the Middle Ages (contributed 140 entries), and From Buchenwald to Carnegie Hall (co-authored with Marian Filar).
This year's first Tema v temi lecture was held within the Euromayday 2006 concept, a global protest movement for globalization of the rights, freedom of the movement and citizenship and the fight against every form of exploitation. Euromayday is a step towards building a new public space, a space of collaboration, union and cheerful rebellion against the evergreen mechanisms of domination.
