Peter Simonič: CARNEVAL IN MARIBOR - book presentation

Six days before Shrove Tuesday Za:misel bookstore invited you to the presentation of Peter Simonič's book PUSTOVANJE IN KARNEVAL V MARIBORU (Carneval in Maribor).

Peter Simonič has been observing and analyzing new events in urban environments in Slovenia, especially in Maribor, for quite some time now. With variety of its scene Maribor is one of the most attractive town areas. The research presents carneval in a fresh, attractive and engaging way.

Carneval is a part of our everyday life although we do not see it in a way that Simonič presents it. The research offers abundant empiric material with which it questions up till now recognized theories about the source and the meaning of rituals and protocols in new urban cultures.
