Music Cycle TOMORROW: Jana Beltran Music Cycle TOMORROW: Jana Beltran Wednesday, 8 December 2021, at 8 p.m. MMC KIBLA
You are kindly invited to join us on Wednesday, 8 December 2021, at 8 p.m. at MMC KIBLA for a concert by Jana Beltran, which will take place within the Music Cycle TOMORROW. Jana will present songs from her forthcoming album as well as perhaps some more intimate solo versions from the duo All Strings Detached.
Jana Beltran is one of the most prominent female songwriters in Slovenia. A few years ago she formed the band Koza-Riba (op. p. Goat-Fish), but her work is mainly known through the music of the duo All Strings Detached, in which she performs as a singer and guitarist. With the duo, with whom she has been working since 2013, she has recorded three albums (Heavy Rain (ZARŠ, 2014), There's Something Painful About the Pearls (ZARŠ, 2017) and Septet (ŠKUC, 2020)) and performed on numerous stages in Slovenia and abroad. https://allstringsdetached.bandcamp.com
As a composer's assistant and performer, she occasionally collaborates with theatres (SNG Nova Gorica and MGL), but in recent years she has focused mainly on her solo career. Last year, she released her original songwriting solo debut Amoretti (ŠKUC, 2020), on which she set to music seven songs she wrote in the Slovene language, using a variety of instrumentation (from guitar, bass, melodica ... to upright piano). https://janabeltran.bandcamp.com/releases
She has also collaborated with other established artists, such as the American musician and producer Chris Eckman. Last year, they recorded a song Then There's the Rain, which was released on a compilation Drums and Wires by an American label, and have performed as a duo at concerts and on the show Izštekani (op. p. Unplugged). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hMfrsziPoM
