Literary break-fast: Milan Dekleva Thursday, 2 December 2021, at 7 p.m. MMC KIBLA On Thursday, 2 December 2021, at 7 p.m., we invite you to this year's seventh Literary break-fast of this season. We will be hosting the eminent artist Milan Dekleva. The conversation will be moderated by Tonja Jelen.
Milan Dekleva, a poet, storyteller, playwright and essayist, was born on 17 October 1946 in Ljubljana. He graduated in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory at the University of Ljubljana. He was the editor of the student newspaper Tribuna and Radio Študent. He taught music, was a journalist for *Dnevnik* and editor of the book supplement Svet v knjigah. Until his retirement, he edited the Children's and youth programs at the RTV Slovenia. He is a member of the music group Salamander, a composer, once a keen rugby and water polo player. He also writes poetry and prose for children, TV scripts and literary and music journalism. He translates from English and Italian. His poetry, essays and short stories have won major national awards, including the Prešeren Award for Lifetime Achievement. As the author of twenty-five collections of poetry, eight novels, three books of short fiction and four books of essays, he is an associate member of The Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
