KIBLIX 2022 Pre-event / Workshops: Weather House
KIBLIX 2022 Pre-event / Workshops: Weather House 7–9 April 2022, 3–6 p.m. KIBLA PORTAL
How to connect a birdhouse and a weather station? How to create an online weather station? You are kindly invited to a three-day Weather House workshop, led by architect and teacher Lovrenc Košenina. The workshop will take place from 7 to 9 April 2022 between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the KIBLA PORTAL (Valvasorjeva 40).
In the workshop you will learn about the basics of meteorology and technical tools for capturing various atmospheric indicators. You will also learn about handicraft by making a wooden birdhouse as well as installing and programming Arduino IOT devices. Finally, you will set up your own Linux server that will collect and record data in a database, plot it locally on a website via the open source Node-RED program and share it online via the Weather Underground portal.
The workshop will be held in three parts: assembling and mounting the sensors; building the birdhouse and microcontroller; and programming the server to publish the collected data. The weather station you will build during the workshop will be placed on the KIBLA PORTAL.
You can register until 6 April 2022 at irena.boric@kibla.org. Participation is free of charge.
