Intermedia exhibition VRTN!CA* 11 June–10 December 2021 Arboretum Volčji Potok
On Friday, 11 June 2021, we have opened the intermedia exhibition VRTN!CA in Arboretum Volčji Potok, a pilot project of the RUK network, implemented by KIBLA2LAB.
In the premises of the Arboretum, which houses one of the most representative rosaries in the world, we place roses in a different way: We relocate them from their natural environment to literary, sound and visual illustration and intermedia installation. In doing so, we want to show part of their existence and beauty and connection with humans. Thus, we offer a new perspective with an upgraded experience of extended reality that simultaneously evokes a special experience in the real environment of the botanical park and in the metaphysical world of art. In a spatial audiovisual installation, visitors can experience four stories of selected roses: Damask, as well as the varieties Trubar, Peace and Prešeren.
The exhibition is located in the manor house next to the administration building. It is a 15-minute walk from the parking lot to the exhibition area. There is a road closure at the main access from the highway in Količevo. We recommend a detour past Češenik Castle. Please, follow the recommendations of the NIJZ/NIPH when visiting the exhibition.
