INVITATION (PDF) ABOUT THE EXHIBITION (PDF)
Natalija R. Črnčec has been surrendering herself to color since the very beginning of her career. She explores it in the relationship with light and shape, through variations in the repetition of patterns, orbs and colors; and forms installations full of soothing energy and mystical charm. So far, she has been creating mainly in blue and red, but this time in KiBela, she presents herself with the most colorful layout ever.
Loves an installation of more than 3000 hand-painted balls that comprise the spectrum of colors – from primary to undertones, which branch into lighter and darker shades and soften the transitions between red and yellow, yellow and blue, blue and red. The artist created a floating mass, frozen in place during its travel through space. Surrounded by colored »planets« that gain their power from fluorescent UV light, we can find our way through the maze or get lost in micro-maps shaped on the spheres by hours of piling on the color.
JUNEsHELEN is the author of the sound ambient.
Natalija R. Črnčec, born in 1972, graduated in 1996 from the Faculty of Education, a major in art pedagogy. She is a professor of fine arts at the Prva gimnazija Maribor and II. gimnazija Maribor. In her work, she deals with the problematics of color and light, which she explores through the painting medium and spatial layouts.
