The exhibition will be showing on both locations.

The reality with which the artist confronts us, travels with people, with migrations; it is political and committed, both in the wider social, as well as the personal context. The artist's intimate experience is an echo of the "social truths" sold to us by the media, politics, and people.

In what way, then, should we be thinking about the world and Europe? How can we imagine a common life in Europe? How should we contemplate the role of art in our hyper-media, fetishized, consumerist contemporaneity? Where is the place of finding out who we truly are? These are some of the issues addressed by the artist as part of her first retrospective exhibition in Slovenia.

Šejla Kamerić is active in the fields of visual arts, painting, installation, performance, graphic design, theater and film.

You are hereby cordially invited to attend the opening of the exhibition on Friday, 9 November 2018, at 7 p. m., at the MMC KIBLA and the artKIT Gallery in Maribor. You are most welcome to join us also on Saturday, 10 November 2018 at 10 a. m., for a breakfast with the artist, in artKIT Gallery in Maribor.
