Asuna Arashi: Audio performance![]() In 1999, ASUNA began his installation and live performance work, which make new meaning and value rise to the surface in a specific context within which they are being produced. His series Each Organ uses the reed organ as a device that employs mechanical force and movement of the electric motor to function as an independent system. Thus the organ itself, as a musical instrument, can be seen as intertwinement of interconnected actions. The artwork attempts to measure the movement of the organ by modifying the fixed system “organizations” via sound. ASUNA’s recent exhibitions and performances include a colorful installation piece entitled 100KEYBOARDS, the 100 Toys sound installation, as well as numerous other sound narratives inspired by hardcore punk / hip hop / freak folk noise / experimental onkyo / lo-fi pop scene and supported by his use of toys, Casiotones and various electronics. ASUNA lives and works in Kanazawa, Japan. Foto (Janez Klenovšek)
