Huiqin Wang: Transfer Beyond Time An artistic interpretation of the life of Ferdinand Avguštin Haller von Hallerstein
The performance is an introduction into the two year European Hallerstein project, combining cultural heritage, performing arts and new media technologies. The coordinator of the Hallerstein project is KID KIBLA.
This exhibition's central figure is Ferdinand von Hallerstein – Liu Songling (1703 – 1774), the Jesuit missionary, scientist, inventor and astronomer, who was born in Mengeš but lived for 35 years in China, where he became the head of the Emperor's astronomical observatory. His life story was the source of artistic inspiration for an exhibition (paintings, drawings, shadow puppets, installation, video…) by Chinese and Slovene artists (Zhao Qiu, Silvan Omerzu, Huiqin Wang, Zhao Cong, Tanja Rudolf, Pila Rusjan, Borut Berič, Dino Schreilechner, Alen Breznik-Flip, Cameron Bobro) conceptualised by painter Huiqin Wang.
The exhibition has been organised in cooperation with MMC KIBLA, while the Slovene Ethnographic Museum included it in its series of events dedicated to the theme of intercultural dialogue.
