Nika Oblak & Primož Novak: TEAMWORK 3 On Friday, the 31st of August 2007 at 8pm Kibela invited you to the opening of the exhibition ob Nika Oblak & Primož Novak entitled Timsko delo 3/ Team work 3.
The exhibition was opened until the 15th of September 2007.
Nika Oblak and Primož Novak bring irony to the role that contemporary media play today and to the communication between the viewer and the media. They are realizing that media nowadays patronize the viewer because they dictate what he or she should think and at the same time enforce the values of contemporary consumerism on him/her.
One of their last projects is entitled Škatla (The box). In this video installation they use a combination of digital and mechanical technology. Nika Oblak, born 1975, graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2002. In the 2000-2001 academic year she was a guest student in the class of Prof. K. Sieverding at the Hochschule der Kuenste in Berlin. In 2005, she received her M.F.A. in video from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. Since 2002 she works in an artists cooperative with Primož Novak. Primož Novak, born 1973, graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2002.
