Marko Peljhan: SPECTRAL-SYSTEM MEMBX ON-2005The opening of SPECTRAL-SYSTEM MEMBX ON-2005 project, high technology intermedia installation by Marko Peljhan and Pact Systems team Nejc Trošt and Samo Stopar, took place on Saturday, 5th of November at 19.00 (7pm).
Before the opening, a lecture about the project and its future: Civilian Anti-Reconnoitring – The Development of the Open Surveillance took place, on Saturday 5th of November at 17.00 (5pm).
Project was presented in Maribor before leaving for the U.S.A., where in the year 2006 test flights of autonomous systems and navigation will be executed in the Mojave desert in the Mojave Civilian Flight Test Site. SPECTRAL SYSTEM has up to now been exhibited in Vienna, Berlin, Dublin, Tokio and Ljubljana.
SPECTRAL SYSTEM is a project of technological development of the pilotless autonomous air force that will serve sensor missions of the MAKROLAB and LADOMIR ANTARCTIC BASE project and will at the same time be at tactic-media activities' disposal around the world. Project is being developed since the year 2000, first flight was executed in July this year in Slovenia.
Marko Peljhan: Born in Šempeter at Nova Gorica. He lives in Los Angeles, Riga and Ljubljana. In the year 1995 he founded the technological branch of the Atol Project: PACT SYSTEMS and co-founded LJUDMILA. He is coordinator of the international initiative INSULAR TECHNOLOGIES (www.insular.net) and MAKROLAB project (makrolab.ljudmila.org). Together with the Moscau Centre for Cosmonaut Training Jurij Gagarin and MIR (Microgravity Interdisciplinary Research) consortium he is also flight coordinator for artistic projects in weightless space. He invented and adjusted the production of the mobile media laboratory project Transhub-01 which was for the first time realized as MOBILATORIJ and now operates successfully. Since the year 2002 he is professor on the University of California in Santa Barbara.
