Vladimir Leben and Damijan Kracina: GALAPAGOSOn Friday, the 11th of February 2005, we have opened Galapagos exhibition by the authors Damijan Kracina and Vladimir Leben. The exhibition was opened until the 22nd of February!
Damijan Kracina (sculpturer and intermedia artist) and Vladimir Leben (painter and animator) are enthusiastic about natural sciences and get their creative inspiration from it. They transfer their comprehension of the world to the gallery space they turn into a ZOO and try, in this non-violent, humorous way to call attention to the vulnerability of this world.
»Intermedia project Galapagos created by Damijan Kracina and Vladimir Leben is an intertwining of paintings, sculptures, installation, video projections, photographies, music and much more. Installation of the futuristic landscape inhabited by the fantasy world of genetically perfected animals is being projected on the gallery wall with the help of a wireless camera. Beside visual images the artists have prepared an audio performance with the help of an animal friend and other animal noises. Audio performance can only be seen through a small hole. The artists play with us and put us in a role of a voyer. Through playfulness and humour, two of artistic elements losing themselves more and more nowadays, a very well weighed message is being delivered. The artists try to make us laugh and at the same time evoke feelings of guilt and uneasiness while watching the animals that became nothing more but a tool in men's hands. While thinking about future they put us in a position of the weak and the helpless.« (Jadranka Ljubičič)
So we have prepared an animal experience for the first exhibition in the year 2005 and a completely new MMC Kibla image!
At the opening of the exhibition we have also celebrated 15 years of RADIO MARŠ!
