Chris Hales: CAUSE AND EFFECT Interactive "movie maker" Chris Hales, once again in Kibla.
Cause and Effect An interactive video installation that screams for the physical inclusion of the visitors!
On Wednesday, 23 June 2004, an interactive cinema performance by Chris Hales and Teijo Pellinen took place in MMC Kibla, space for art KiBela, Kneza Koclja 9, 2000 Maribor.
Chris Hales and Teijo Pellinen involved the visitors in their project platform Cause and Effect. The platform enables the indirect interaction of the audience, whereby they can change and influence the content of the film. The power of the interaction is determined physically; for example, if the visitors were loud enough, they broke all the glasses in the film. The performance included 90 minutes of films and it can also be described as a hybrid between cinema and theatre.
Chris Hales made a similar great impact on the public as he did last year. Last year he presented himself with the project Effect/Affect. The project included a selection of his interactive films, which can be described as a temporal development of his work and approach. The performance was supported by the Slovene Ministry of Culture, Municipality of Maribor and ŠOU Maribor.
