Davide Grassi: DemoKino Davide Grassi and virtual democracy DEMOKINO: FOR OR AGAINST?
On Friday, June 4 2004 at 8 pm you could give your vote at the contemporary virtual agora, made by Davide Grassi with its project DemoKino, in the art space KiBela, in MMC Kibla, Kneza Koclja 9, Maribor.
"Demokino is a virtual parliament that uncovers how the political is before the law, which is put on the political only as utopian and redundant technical procedure." dr. Bojana Kunst
What is your opinion? And what exactly is the value of your decision? These two questions are the essence of political decision-making, imitated by Davide Grassi in a unique way. DemoKino gives us a ride through everyday by watching a film story. At the same time it includes us in the dilemmas of a character, which are ours as well, since society is forcing contemporary burning issues on us and makes us decide. That evening we were once again called to cooperate in a typical Slovene politic of decision-making - the referendum. Among the topics were cloning, genetically modified food, same-sex marriages, and abortion. For each of topic, the visitors / voters had to express their opinion, which influenced the further course of the story. SO, ARE YOU FOR OR AGAINST?
One computer = one vote! Voting was also possible on personal laptops or from home via www.demokino.net!*
