Kibla New Year's Party - ECOC International Countdown

In Kibla, we again danced into the New Year, this time to the excellent choice of music by DJ Freddy Lopomo from Italy (http://www.facebook.com/pages/DJ-Freddy-Lopomo/46236439574) in the company of young people from around the world. We were visited by the Ukrainians, Spaniards, Croatians, Macedonians, Italians, the French, the Polish, the Russian, the Belarus, Germans, the Dutch, the Greek, Cypriots, the Czech, the Slovak and Austrians.

We toasted the passing of the old year and welcomed the new one. And here comes the best bit: not only once! In KiBar we were joined by young people from around the world to count down and rejoice every hour on the hour, from 10 pm onwards; first the Russian New Year, Moscow time, then the Ukrainian time at 11 pm, at midnight we danced to the traditional tune Silvestrski poljub (The New Year's Kiss), and at 1 am we celebrated with the Portuguese. There was a countdown projected on the big screen, also counting the time left to 2012 when Maribor and its partner cities will be the European Capital of Culture. Kibla thus continues to promote the event at the world level, inviting people from around the world to visit Maribor again in 2012, if not sooner.
