Project, temporary radio station for contemporary art.

The aim of the project is to constitute a platform - a legal project radio frequency for contemporary art.
The vision of radioCona project is to enable various projects within contemporary arts to offer their contents via a legal radio frequency. To establish an open medium. The radioCona platform will provide: the frequency (periodical radio station), transmitter and the studio (assistance with broadcast execution; technical equipment, speakers). Open schedule will enable various editorial teams to prepare the programme.

The programme of the first broadcast (1st to 8th January 2008) has been prepared by Irena Pivka and Brane Zorman to establish the medium.

Establishing such a platform represents a realization of a non-commercial radio station on a classical FM frequency. The question arises whether the society needs radio programme not related to typical commercial transfer of contents, information or music. What users, social spheres or environments could make use of such a non-commercial radio?
The question or challenge is then posed to producers, artists and theoreticians, contemporary art critics about how project designers can use the radio for their creation. How can a contemporary artist interfering with other areas outside the scope of art use such a medium. How do other players imagine themselves within radio.
As radiaCona is planed to operate continually in various intervals, these questions will probably be answered at a later time.
