Gregor Purgaj: Out of my shell

On Friday the 16th of February 2007 at 8pm you were kindly invited to ACE Kibla to attend the opening of the Kibar exhibition by a young street art artist Gregor Purgaj.

Gregor creates in street art, an art form that has become an upgrade of the graffiti art in the last few years. At the end of 2005 he decided to use canvas and wood as a foundation and so in one year »out of my shell« exhibition was created. He uses crooked figures composed of simple geometric shapes and lines that play the roles of gods, demons and people and are placed in colorful backgrounds symbolizing feelings or dreams.
Gregor derives motives from his environment, music (lyrics) and his own personality.

About the author:
Gregor Purgaj, born in 1981 in Maribor. He finished elementary school in Gornja Radgona and continued his education at the vocational highschool for mechanical engineering in Murska Sobota. At the moment he is succesfully finishing education for a florist.
Until now he has prepared two solo exhibitions: Strmina (Radenci, May 2006) and »out of my shell« MIKK Murska Sobota (September 2006).
