Workshop: Nature and Digitization – 3D Scanning and Deconstruction
Workshop: Nature and Digitization – 3D Scanning and Deconstruction 22–24 October 2024 17-20h KIBLA PORTAL
Join us for a three-day workshop where we will explore the intertwining of nature and digital technology. Through the process of 3D scanning and deconstructing natural elements, participants will explore how modern technologies influence our perception of nature and artistic practice.
Day 1: Digitizing nature We will learn how to capture and digitally analyze natural elements such as leaves, rocks and branches using 3D scanning. Deconstructing these digital models will facilitate a discussion about the impact of technology on our relationship with nature.
Day 2: Reconstruction and design Using 3D software, we will transform natural elements into unique artistic structures that express a modern perception of nature. The focus will be on innovative approaches and artistic interventions.
Day 3: Interactive installations We will combine 3D reconstructions with the virtual world or the physical world (3D printing) to create installations that encourage reflection on our relationship with nature and digital technology.
The workshop will be conducted by: Jaka Waldhütter, Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Professor of Computer Science Monika Pocrnjić, BA in Art Education and intermedia artist
