KULTURNI DNEVNIK (Culture Journal)Kulturni dnevnik (Culture Journal) MMC KIBLA
The programs of MMC KIBLA form part of the Kulturni dnevnik (Culture Journal) initiative from the beginning of this school year. The aim of the project Kulturni dnevnik / Culture Journal is to provide elementary school students with an education in the wider field of culture in a way that connects all kinds of productions offered by local cultural institutions and organizations. Through organized visits of various institutions devoted to culture, experiencing cultural events of all kinds, and meeting and talking with different artists and experts, the students are given a chance to get to know the occupations and career options in the field of culture, the processes involved in the creation of shows and exhibitions, and the functioning of cultural institutions.
Culture Journal organizes tours and visits for various concerts, theater and puppet shows, dance events and movies, as well as visits to galleries, libraries, museums, archives, etc. With each event, a creative workshop is organized, where students can put their own creative abilities and ideas to the test. Kulturni dnevnik (Culture Journal) joins together as many as 18 different local cultural associations and organizations. This year the existing program partners were joined by CJKD Sinagoga, MMC KIBLA, Mladinski kulturni center (MKC, Maribor Youth Center), The University of Maribor Library, Regional archives Maribor, and GT22. Other program partners: Narodni dom Maribor, Pokrajinski muzej Maribor, Muzej narodne osvoboditve Maribor, Zavod za varstvo kulturne dediščine Slovenije, Umetnostna galerija Maribor, Lutkovno gledališče Maribor, Slovensko narodno gledališče, Pionirska knjižnica Rotovž, Mestna knjigarna Mladinska knjiga, Plesna izba Maribor, Društvo za razvoj filmske kulture, Zavod MARS Maribor. In the season 2016/17, the Culture Journal unfolds in its 9th edition, and is admission free for all participants. With this project, Maribor's youngsters are seen as the potential creators and visitors of cultural events in the city on a long-term basis, as a future-oriented investment aimed at a systemic and comprehensive education of young people in the field of culture. The Culture Journal (Kulturni dnevnik) has been included in Slovenia's official National Program for Culture 2014 – 2017 as an example of good practice in attaining the educational goals in the field of culture and arts.
