The unique team of leading blowers from Europe and USA gave us much: the sound of two saxophones or clarinets (characteristic for Chicago tradition) offers a variety of possibilities, especially when it is supported by such a great rhythm section.

After years of friendship, but only occasional joint concerts, Ab Baars decided to invite Chicago based Ken Vandermark to join his trio that has been together for 15 years. The result is a premiere of two tenor and clarinet titans, a thick, energetic and fresh quartet, full of clear solos.

Ab Baars is a member of ICP Orchestra that has played on Ljubljana jazz festival and last year thrilled us in Maribor with his unique interpretation of Duke Elllington.

Ken Vandermark is without a doubt one of the most creative musicians of jazz in the last decade- receipient of numerous awards and a leader of numerous bands ( in Maribor he played with DKV trio, Aaly trio, Spaceway Inc., Vandermark 5, and with some Slovenian musicians).
