Unbelievable, but true – Vernon Reid, one of the greatest guitar masters of the last 20 years came to Maribor to Satchmo Jazz Club! The leading guitar of the Grammy winners, dark-skinned legends Living Colour, collaborator of Public Enemy, Mick Jagger, Carlos Santana, The Roots, Salifa Keite and numerous others, is coming to Maribor jazz club with his recognizable guitar sound that borders on jazz, funk, rock and hip-hop music and his new and most ambitious project- Masque. Reid, born in Great Britain, but all the time working in the USA, formed his sound under the influence of a hybrid latin-rock of Carlos Santana. The work of Vernon Reid is a constant »work in progress«, from the early 80's he is active in the New York downtown scene in groups such as drummer Ronald Shannon Jackson's Decoding Society and Joseph Bowie's Defunkt. Later he became a founder-member of the Black Rock Coalition that was striving for a more creative approach of the afro-american musicians. Don't miss one of the greatest face-to-face in Satchmo!
