We still remember the great performance of the Akosh S. Unit group when blower and drummer were excelling and in 2006 they were back in an intimate duo. Multi – instrumentalist Akosh Szeleveny is one of the most emotionally accentuated and explosive musicians in Europe, that can be compared only to Mats Gustafsson. In the last years Akosh created one of the most original careers in jazz: last year he made a CD/DVD with stars like Salif Keita and Mino Cinelu, he had a key impact on the albums of legendary rock group Noir Desir, and he enjoys a cult like status with the Slovenian public which recognizes him as a true heir to legends like John Coltrane, Albert Ayler or Sun Ra. In France, as well, Akosh has been praised by the critics of all the great festivals; his music named »the best thing that happened to French jazz in the last ten years«. Passionate Akosh concerts are unique experiences, full of robust charm, lyrical melodies and yearning expresionism. »Melting-pot” music of the duo with Gildas is full of subtle trans – cultural collages, it unites exstatic “power-play«, pipes of the African nomadic people, Pannonian and Balkan melodies and traditional harnonies of Indian music. Akosh's geyser is additionally incited with the unstoppable, rushing rhythmic section of Gildas Etevenard. http://akosh.s.free.fr/http://akosh.s.free.fr/ Photo gallery
