Benat Achiary trio - the concert

This Friday, the 2nd of June 2006 at 8.30 pm, you were cordially invited to visit the last concert of the Jazz package before the summer break. The concert took place on the Mali oder of Narodni dom.

It is true what they say: singing comes straight from the heart and accordion is the instrument closest to the heart (not only because of its connection to Slovenian music, but also because of the way the player holds it) and when everything is combined with a drummer whose personal engagement can only be compared to the engagement of Max Roach, then you can expect a performance by the trio of a special sort. Benat Achiary is one of the greatest singers of our time – his singing is completely different from what we are use to hearing, always dedicated to melody and rhythm, and above all, his reading of Lorca's or Bauderlaire's poetry is unheard of wonderful.
