Especially when you're dealing with one of the Dutch key saxophonists and clarinettists. Aba Baars's quartet is taking inspiration out of the music of the greatest jazz composer Duke Ellington. It does this in a refine, playful, teasing, loyal to tradition way that makes Ellington's music very up-to-date. |
