KIBLIX 2024 | MIGAV Music Cycle: Cadlag
MIGAV Music Cycle Cadlag Wednesday, 27 November 2024, at 8 p.m. MMC KIBLA
We cordially invite you to the fourth event of this year’s MIGAV cycle, to the performance of the collective Cadlag, which will take place on Wednesday, 27 November 2024, at 8 p.m. at MMC KIBLA.
The experimental-electronic collective, consisting of the artists PureH, Extreme Smoke, Dodecahedragraph and TGWFYTD, is a living entity of massive audiovisual structures. One of the most refreshing Slovenian projects in the fields of noise and drone is relentless, brutal and elegant. Pure improvisations of double bass drone, modulated guitars, electronics and monochrome visuals form an always unpredictable sound installation in “real time”.
On their latest album Integral (2023) they “create something much greater than the sum of their parts, weaving an ungodly tapestry that is unquestionably moving toward something, whatever that something is – more vertical descent than the horizon. [..]. For fans of dark ambient works with a decidedly sinister bent, Integral delivers the goods, and then some. Given the attention to analogue detail, Cadlag have created something that truly redefines this crowded genre, even as Integral borrows from its heritage of scary sounds.” (musiquemachine.com)
Sprouted on the Slovenian soil, Cadlag is currently one of the most refreshing and mesmerizing contemporary projects in the noise and drone spheres of sonic output, and rightly so. The four members with their diverse backgrounds, all hailing from different regions, join together and form the live unit, fusing genres and influences into a unique aural/visual experience. In doing so, they manage to deliver one of the most relentless “real-time sound installation” performances, evoking and bringing forth both an elevating and deeply grounded presence of sonic dexterity and force.
