Music cycle MIGAV: Marko Batista Music cycle MIGAV: Marko Batista Tuesday, 23 November, 2021, at 7 p.m. MMC KIBLA
You are kindly invited to the second event of this season's MIGAV music cycle, which will take place on Tuesday, 23 November 2021 at 8 p.m. at MMC KIBLA. Marko Batista will present his new audio-visual performance Hidden Form of Digital Matter in which he explores the multi-layered relationship of digitally structured intermedia formations with the help of DIY technology.
As the curator Alenka Trebušak says, in his projects the artist uses digital processes in the sense of dynamic variables, i.e. as a kind of immaterial and at the same time unpredictable, but nevertheless very kneadable matter, which through various modular interfaces and feedback loops at the output of the system generates dynamic frequency compositions, which travel to the viewer's senses in the form of audible or visible signals.
Marko Batista is a Ljubljana-based experimental sound, light installation and intermedia artist. He graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, and then completed his MA at Central Saint Martins in London. His work focuses on performative sound practices as well as spatial audio-visual installations. His work has been presented at numerous festivals and galleries both at home and abroad such as U3-Modern Gallery, MSUM+, Wonderlab-Novi Sad, Tobačna 001, International Festival of Computer Arts, The Match Gallery, Aksioma Project Space, Kino Šiška, Lumina Light Festival - Portugal, Visualia Festival - Croatia, Eastern Bloc Gallery - Canada, etc.
Admission is free. You can attend the event in accordance with the RVT protocol and NIJZ recommendations.
