Igor Bezget's Big Bang Igor Bezget's Big Bang Music Cycle JUTRI (TOMORROW) MMC KIBLA, Thursday, 12 December 2019, at 8 p. m.
You are hereby kindly invited to join us at the MMC KIBLA on Thursday, 12 December 2019, at 8 p. m., for an evening with composer and guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Igor Bezget, who will present pieces from his vast body of work with the help of his friends from the music world.
At the concert, Igor will be accompanied by fellow musicians, most of whom have been part of his ensembles when the music, which will be presented at the event, was still in the making. On this occasion, they will perform mostly as duos or trios. Guest artists:
Urška Gajšt – vocals Patricija Roj – vocals and Tibetan singing bowls Grega Kozar – saxophone Janja Turk – flute Tadej Kampl – bass Nino Mureškič – percussions
Such combinations will be the most appropriate way of presenting Igor's work, up to the surprise which follows in the second part of the evening. His music-making, namely, ranges from solo performances, through small ensembles, to orchestras, and also includes electronic music performances. He has performed and recorded on every continent from major festivals to smaller clubs with some of the best musicians on the planet.
Igor Bezget: “I could not found my own place in any of the music genres I have dedicated myself to. I remember when Suresh Talwalkar said, 'When you're doing everything, you're really doing nothing. When you're only doing one thing, that's when you're doing everything.' I tried to discover what that one thing was for me. I come from an environment that does not have a well-established, typical musical tradition, except perhaps in folk music – and this is still something I am going to do in the future. But in reality, we are halfway between the east and the west. And this is how I realized that this is my 'one thing' – I'm on a mission of joining all these influences into a single whole...“
Join us for a one-of-a-kind concert night of global music and enjoy the magic of timbres, the melody of shades, the hypnotism of rhythmic structures and the harmony of instruments from around the world.
