Creative learning in vulnerable social groups - book presentation

In August, the Association of creative people in the field of culture (ZULK) from Maribor, published the book Creative learning in vulnerable social groups, which originates in the project Theory and Practice: Managerial Training for Culture and Art professions. The project has been supported by the Ministry of Culture, European Social Fund and ZULK by covering a small share of expenses.

The theoretical part of the project was executed in January and February 2009, when the participants attended various lectures of the curriculum: From idea to execution, Freelance professions in culture, Marketing and public relations, Management in culture, Social work in culture and Accounting aspects. In March the participants trained within the practical part comprising a recording and editing workshop, administration workshop, concert lighting workshop and design workshop. They trained to work at the major project - Romano Chon/Roma month Festival. Three topics from the field of good practices have been presented within the practical part: Music Gallery, Blue Chair and Working with Refugees.

The theoretical part was followed by a test, passed successfully by the participants.

After the book presentation, participants were given diplomas on attendance and performance at the training. Then, a short film was screened, having been created within the recording and editing workshop.
