State of Liquid: "1999" PREMIERE

MED 2017 Act Two is a premiere event: Trick-C and Dante Benami join creative forces in their project dubbed State of Liquid, which first hit the world of electronica neon light splendor in 2016. The foundations for this project were laid already when they were working as duo Future Lovers, only this time the pop dance elements are replaced by a liquid D'n'B intertwined with long-forgotten sounds of house.

Trick-C has worked since the early 90's onward as a DJ, organizer, and promotor, especially for female DJ-ing. After cultivating the hillsides of the Ljutomer and Pomurje regions with new and emerging electronic music, she became known around that area as "the mother of the Prlekija hills techno". After moving to Maribor, she was a regular guest at the Interparty & Underground Grooves events.

Point (Dante Benami), hard-bitten producer, DJ, and one of the pioneers of the Croatian techno scene, set out on his musical journey in neigbouring Croatia, specifically Zagreb, where he grew up, and instigated a techno revolution together with DJ Mary in 1977.

Trick-C and Dante Benami have been anchored firmly in the Slovenian scene for 18 years. Their story is one of scope, scale, and a big heart – they are joined by love for each other and for electronic music. Their work is always interrelated, complementary, upgraded. Music, as they say, is the medium of love, and love is the medium of music.
