KIBLIX 2022 Pre-event: Kinetic-Sonic Jam with Simon Whetham
KIBLIX 2022 Pre-event: Kinetic-Sonic Jam with Simon Whetham 14–16 October 2022 KIBLA2LAB, KIBLA PORTAL
Are you an artist, student, sound engineer, or hacker, interested in a deep dive into creating kinetic-sonic sculptures that amplify and transform found sound into mechanical whizz and resonances of discarded electronics? And on top of that, do you want to create, learn from and share your knowledge with like-minded colleagues and have fun?
We invite you to join Simon Whetham, a UK-based artist, investigator of unnoticed sounds and mentor, and the KIBLA2LAB team for the upcoming Kinetic-Sonic Jam, a 48-hour creation jam repurposing discarded electronics into kinetic sound sculptures. After the jam, Simon will conceive and develop his own work in relation to yours, while the final installation will be exhibited in the scope of this year’s KIBLIX festival.
Creation Jam – a play on Game Jam (game design & development) where the 48-hour format is most popular. The event will start on Friday evening with the announcement of a theme, brainstorming, pitching, and team creation (or working individually, if preferable). Saturday is a creation day, ending with a group presentation on Sunday afternoon. The event will take place at KIBLA PORTAL in Maribor, Slovenia (Valvasorjeva 40).
Admission is free; accommodation (for those who are not from Maribor) and meals are not included and should be organized individually; however, we will be more than happy to help with some tips. Registration is open until 13 October 2022 at https://tinyurl.com/mr3j726thttps://tinyurl.com/mr3j726t.
