EuroPA - European Public Art

EuroPA develops through joint hands-on workshops new spaces for experimentation, innovation in the cultural and creative sector. The trans-national mobility of artists and early stage researchers will enable them to actively compare their vision, approach and work, while working towards a shared ambition: to reflect, compare, debate and envision the very concrete future of these cities. The concrete images, projects and interventions that will be the tactile outcome of the project cultural dialogue will in turn allow and stimulate a wider debate between urban active citizenship and policymakers. It is the dialogue between different European visual arts and architectural cultures that can lead to a fruitful exchange between policy makers and concerned populations, which is at the heart of this partnership and proposed cultural action. This dialogue will allow the participants to both understand and build a European culture as the context of possible future collaboration. The building and circulation of new creative works benefit many European audiences. We will offer them new perspectives that challenge both the individual and collective mind to understand and live the complexity, and multipli[city] of our contemporary urbanity offering insights and scenarios to access to a more diverse and rich cultural/urban landscapes. The envisaged transnational mobility of architects, artists and related cultural professionals is of major importance in helping to make a common "European cultural area" a reality, and to bring about cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. Artists and cultural professionals working in EuroPA will travel beyond borders to extend their scope of activities and meet new audiences, to find new and inspiring sources to make their creations evolve, to exchange experiences and learn from each other with a view to developing their careers. EuroPA promotes the mobility of artists, architects and cultural practitioners – that are essential for the flourishing of European Cultural Creative Industries.
